Russian missile attack kills eight in Ukrainian port city of Odessa

Kiev, Dec 20, (dpa/GNA) – At least eight people were killed and 27 injured, some seriously, in an overnight Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, the Ukrainian Civil Defence Service reported in a Facebook post on Saturday.

A bus carrying passengers was hit in the strike on a port facility, and lorries and cars caught fire in a car park, the agency added.

The information could not be independently verified.

On Thursday, a woman was killed in a Russian drone strike on a car in Odessa. Her three children were seriously injured, regional military administrator Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine nearly four years ago. Since then, Russia has been waging a devastating war against its neighbour, repeatedly targeting Ukraine’s civilian population.
