Nkwanta (OR), Dec. 13, GNA – The authorities at the Kyabobo National Park in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region are appealing to the public, especially tourists to consider the park as a preferred destination this festive season, following the restoration of peace in the area after recent conflicts.
Mr. Alfred Kofi Bara, the Manager of Kyabobo National Park in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during a visit, confirmed that calm had returned, and activities at the park were picking up.
He emphasised that despite the temporary impact of the conflict on tourism, the Park remained safe and open to visitors.
He added that there was a misconception that the area was unsafe, but assured that visitors, who wished to tour the Park could contact the authorities upon arrival, as the team would arrange accommodation and transport from any agreed location to ensure their safety throughout their stay.
The Park boasts of a rich natural environment, including diverse wildlife species, colourful butterflies, and two stunning waterfalls.
They include lower and upper falls, locally referred to as “Lagoon.”
The Park also features the magnificent breast mountain, popular among hikers and adventure lovers.
Additionally, the area is a home to many medicinal tree species, offering tourists a serene opportunity to experience nature’s healing atmosphere.
Mr Bara, however, encouraged Ghanaians and international tourists to take advantage of the festive season to explore the park’s unique attractions and enjoy the peaceful environment now restored.
