Accra, Dec. 09, GNA – The Seventhday Theocracy World Congregation has ended its 10th Tebeh observance with a call on churches and religious bodies to uphold truthfulness in all their teachings and dealings.
Apostle Dr Kadmiel E.H. Abenlenyo, the Founder and Leader of the Seventhday Theocratic World Congregation, said false witness was a murderous act that destroyed individuals and societies.
He made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the Sabbath lesson at Otiakrom–Shalom near Aburi in the Eastern Region.
He stated that falsehood remained one of the most destructive evils in society, saying: “False witness kills. A false witness is rewarded for his or her falsehood. False witness leads to destruction in hell.”
Apostle Abenlenyo said some believers underestimate the seriousness of bearing false witness, saying, in modern times, people were hired to testify in law courts, traditional courts and even religious tribunals, where they were coached on what to say and how to respond.
“Those who bear false witness are children of Satan the Devil, referencing John 8:44,” he said.
Citing 1 Kings 21:7–13, he recalled the biblical account of Naboth, who was murdered after refusing to give his inherited land to King Ahab. He explained that Jezebel, Ahab’s wife, devised a murderous scheme by recruiting two false witnesses to accuse Naboth of blasphemy, leading to his death.
He warned that similar behaviour existed today within religious circles, saying certain missionaries, deacons and members often caused troubles in the Seventhday Theocratic World Congregation by acting as agents of the deceiver, Satan the Devil.
Apostle Abenlenyo said in Matthew 26:59–66, Jesus Christ Himself was crucified due to the actions of false accusers coached by the Jewish authorities.
He said the authorities ignored proper investigation and pushed for His execution even though he had been found faultless.
He added that many innocent people may be languishing in prison today because of false accusations that were not properly examined by judges, citing Matthew 27:19–25.
“In Deuteronomy 19:15–19, God abhors false accusations and requires at least two or three truthful witnesses to determine guilt. In the cases of Naboth and Christ Jesus, only two witnesses were used because their accusers had already predetermined their deaths.”
The Apostle said false witnesses must also be scrutinised and punished, adding that any pastor or member who bore false witness against humanity or the Seventhday Theocratic World Congregation must be sanctioned by the Missionary and Deaconate Council and the Presiding Missionary, citing Deuteronomy 17:8–13.
He urged all churches to preach only the truth and uphold righteousness to protect the integrity of the Christian faith.
