Accra, Dec. 9, GNA –  The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in collaboration with sister security agencies, will on Thursday, December 11, conduct a coordinated Show of Force exercise across major streets in Accra.

The Show of Force forms part of ongoing security preparations to enhance operational readiness and deter criminal activity as the Christmas festivities approach.

A statement issued in Accra by the Department of Public Relations of the GAF, signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, said the exercise would start at 0900 hours from the Black Star Square and proceed through designated routes before returning to the same location.

The statement said the exercise aimed to reassure the public of the preparedness of the various security services to maintain peace and stability while strengthening inter-agency cooperation for a more robust national security posture.

“The Show of Force exercise is a routine training activity which may result in an increased security presence and temporary traffic slowdowns in the Greater Accra Region and its environs,” it added.

The joint operation will involve personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

GAF encouraged the public to go about their normal activities, assuring that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure safety throughout the exercise.
