Sunyani (Bono) Dec. 23, GNA-The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested 54 suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations.Â
A statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Bonon Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the police administration, said the operation targeting illegal drug peddlers, users and robbery criminal hideouts within the region.
The operations were conducted in areas including Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa Ahenkro to dismantle criminal networks, it said.
Items retrieved from the suspects include quantities of tramadol, suspected Indian hemp, scissors, a green tricycle, small crusher, matches, and cigarettes, it added.
The statement announced that suspects have been arraigned before court and remanded into police custody to assist police for further investigation.
The Bono Regional Police Command assures the public of its commitment to ensuring a crime-free festive season and warns that persons who commit crimes will face the full rigors of the law.
