Jakarta, Dec 9, (dpa/GNA) – A fire at a technology office building in Indonesia’s capital, has killed at least 20 people, police said on Tuesday.
The blaze broke out at the Terra Drone building, in a densely populated district of central Jakarta, local police chief Susatyo Purnomo said.
The victims included five men and 15 women, one of whom was pregnant, he said.
Susatyo said firefighters had difficulty reaching the upper levels of the building, where most of the victims were found.
“Conditions on the sixth floor remain very challenging because of heavy smoke and structural damage,” Susatyo said.
Police said it was not clear what caused the fire.
