Accra, Dec. 26, GNA – Accra Ubuntu Lions Club has marked five years of humanitarian service, leadership and community impact across Ghana.
Chartered on December 24, 2020, the club has undertaken projects aimed at improving lives and uplifting communities, with its footprint spanning Klikor to Bawku and other areas.
In a release copied to Ghana News Agency, Mr Seyram Frederick Ahiabor, Charter President, described the period as a journey of service, unity and purpose.
“From the very beginning, our vision was to build a club that serves with heart, innovation, and consistency. Five years on, we are proud of the lives touched and even more inspired by the future ahead,” he said.
The club has 79 members and is the largest of the 54 Lions District 418 Clubs in Ghana.
Since inception, it has been recognised for outstanding leadership, membership growth and service delivery.
It has held awareness programmes on vision health, diabetes, childhood cancer and environmental sustainability, reinforcing its commitment to preventive healthcare and education.
Mr Ahiabor said the next phase of the club’s journey would focus on education and youth development, with the refurbishment of the ICT Laboratory at Gyakiti Junior High School in the Eastern Region as one of its upcoming projects.

As part of the fifth anniversary celebrations, the club collaborated with Strongwoman Changemaker Africa (SWOCA) Foundation to provide hot meals to about 1,000 people living on the streets around Atomic Junction.
“This partnership with SWOCA Foundation is one we intend to sustain annually. Beyond the festive season, our goal is to continue restoring dignity, giving hope, and impacting lives where the need is greatest,” Mr Ahiabor added.
He thanked members, partners and stakeholders for contributing to the growth and successes of the organisation as it continued to impact lives across the country.
The club’s achievements include the mechanisation of boreholes for the Memordzi, Fumadorkope and Sikor communities in the North Tongu Constituency.
In December 2024, the club handed over a refurbished Malnutrition Centre and a Skills Shed for mothers of children on admission at the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
It has also adopted the Diabetic Clinic at the 37 Military Hospital, providing periodic support and essential resources.
