Accra, Nov. 22, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Hospital (RIDGE Hospital) has appealed to the government, corporate institutions, philanthropists, and well-meaning Ghanaians for support, to put up houses for its staff.
Dr Leslie Issa Adam-Zakariah, the Medical Director of the hospital, made the appeal at the Open Day celebration of the hospital held on Thursday November 20 at its premises in Accra.
It was on the theme: “Promoting Healthy Living Through Partnership and Quality Care.”

The Day was aimed at strengthening community engagement, deepening partnerships, and highlighting the needs of the facility and the workers.
He said the provision of the houses would boost the morale of the workforce to give their best while reducing the stress that they go through in search of decent accommodation.
Dr Adam-Zakariah said it would also help the staff to respond to emergency calls on time, looking at the rate at which patients’ admission kept on increasing to over 95 per cent at the facility.

Dr Adam-Zakariah while commending stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the event, also called for the completion of Phase II of the hospital project and retooling of the facility.
Ms Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, represented by Mr Bless Kwame Dzake, the Director for Budget, lauded the hospital’s leadership for providing an important platform to showcase ongoing advancements in healthcare delivery.
He said the theme emphasized the importance of collaboration in building a resilient and people-centered health system.
He also praised the hospital’s contributions to tertiary healthcare, emergency services, and specialized care across the region.
Nii Tetteh Adjabeng II, the Adabraka Mantse, applauded the hospital for taking proactive steps to educate the public on its diverse services and encouraged management and staff to remain united while maintaining high standards of care.
He expressed gratitude to Pharmanova Pharmaceuticals, Accra Medical Centre, Top Up Pharmacy, Hills Pharmaceuticals, African Delight, and Twellum Industrial for their support towards the event.
