New violence reported in Gaza Strip despite ceasefire

Tel Aviv, Nov 4, (dpa/GNA) – The Israeli military said on Tuesday that “a terrorist” had crossed the so-called “yellow line” in the north of the Gaza Strip and approached Israeli soldiers, “posing an imminent threat to them,” so he was “eliminated.”

The yellow line marks the army’s withdrawal line within the Gaza Strip as part of the ceasefire agreement.

In another incident in the south of the coastal area, Israeli soldiers carried out a precise attack on several terrorist infrastructure facilities that posed a threat to the troops in an area under Israeli control in Khan Younis, the military also reported.

The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that in the east of Gaza City, an Israeli drone fired at a group of Palestinians. One of them was killed and another injured, WAFA said, describing the incident as constituting a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

According to the Hamas-run health authority, three Palestinians killed in the renewed violence were brought to hospitals within 24 hours.

The claims from both sides could not be independently verified.

Since the beginning of a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist terrorist organization Hamas on October 10 as part of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, there have been repeated deadly incidents.

According to the Hamas-run health authority, more than 240 Palestinians have already been killed. Several Israeli soldiers have lost their lives in attacks in the Gaza Strip.
