Tamale, Nov 18, GNA – MTN Ghana has held a night of music and youth celebration under its MTN Pulse initiative, a major feature of this year’s MTN SavannahFest, at the Tamale Campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) bringing excitement amongst students.
The event, designed to offer students premium entertainment while deepening MTN’s connection with young people, was heavily attended at the weekend.
Besides students of the Tamale Campus, students from the Nyankpala and Tamale City Campuses of UDS also thronged the venue and were joined by scores of Tamale residents attracted by the growing buzz surrounding the show.
The night quickly turned into a charged festival of lights, sound and energy with music heavyweights Medikal and Maccasio headlining the concert.
Medikal opened his set with his trademark high-energy delivery performing a string of popular hits that sent the crowd into a frenzy.
The award-winning rapper kept students singing and dancing throughout his performance.
Maccasio, one of the north’s most influential music talents, raised the momentum even higher when he hit the stage.
His entry was met with thunderous cheers and his crowd-pleasing set kept students on their feet, dancing, chanting and recording every moment.
Many attendees described his performance as the highlight of the night.
Apart from the headline performances, several emerging artistes also showcased their talents turning the night into an open platform for rising musicians and strengthening the event’s appeal amongst students.
Mr Moses Azuure, President, Students Representative Council, UDS Tamale Campus, commended MTN Ghana for partnering the university to bring such a high-profile entertainment experience to the University.
He said, “When we came and there was this idea of bringing entertainment to UDS, we set out to look for collaborators and we thought of MTN. When we thought of MTN, we immediately reached out to them, and today we are very grateful to MTN for coming to our aid and coming to UDS.”
He said the show marked a significant milestone for the university, adding “This is historic. Those of you, who have been here for four years and more, can testify that this is the biggest stage ever in the history of UDS. I must commend UDS students for believing in us and also MTN.”
The MTN SavannahFest activation was part of the telecommunication company’s strategy to invest in youth-oriented initiatives, promote creativity and reinforce MTN Pulse as a leading lifestyle brand for young people.
