Mamdev Ghana to construct dormitory to celebrate 150 years of Mfantsipim’s academic excellence

Cape Coast, Nov 25, GNA – MAMDEV Ghana Limited, a Civil Engineering and Building Construction firm, has announced plans to construct a multipurpose, high-capacity dormitory with auxiliary facilities for Mfantsipim School.  

The auxiliary facilities, will provide spaces for rest, social interaction and essential activities, and improve well-being of students. 

Slated for completion within 365 days, the project will herald the celebration of the School’s 150 years of outstanding academic excellence and leadership. 

The move formed part of the company’s broad national infrastructure for enhanced education particularly among Senior High Schools to ease accommodation, teaching and learning challenges. 

Mr Kojo Mamphey, the Chief Executive Officer/ Development Strategist of MAMDEV Ghana Limited, gave the hint in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast. 

Specifically, he said the dormitory was aimed at enhancing student experience in school by ensuring comfort and safety, aid academic success and help increase enrolment capacity. 

Though the project cost remained undisclosed, Mr Mamphey, who is also the Mpuntuhen of Oguaa Traditional Area,  emphasised that his Company would continue to support both school functions and community events. 

He said MAMDEV Ghana  had a strong track record of major infrastructural projects in Ghana, including the Atta Mills Presidential Library and various markets.  

The company, had also supported education through initiatives such as sponsoring Mfantsipim’s Speech Day, offering computer training across schools, and promoting tourism through environmental efforts like beachside coconut tree planting. 

Committed to sustainable development since 1993, MAMDEV Ghana had collaborated with traditional authorities, youth, media and residents to drive local growth.  

He said the company had leveraged cultural festivals like Fetu Afahye in Cape Coast to boost tourism and address social needs. 

Mr Mamphey congratulated Mfantsipim School on their historic back-to-back victory in the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz, marking their fourth national title.  

He praised the school’s intellectual leadership that had inspired students to pursue STEM disciplines with discipline, curiosity and perseverance. 

He also commended the teachers for their pivotal role in nurturing excellence and urged them to continue mentoring the next generation of leaders to strengthen Mfantsipim’s legacy of academic distinction. 

Meanwhile, Very Reverend Ebenezer K Aidoo, Headmaster of the Mfantsipim School, earlier at the School’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day praised the CEO of MAMDEV for their generous support and encouraged the entire Mfantsipim global community to keep rallying behind the school.
