Kumasi, Nov. 13, GNA – The Ashanti South Regional Office of Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has honoured 62 loyal customers and partners for their consistent support, timely payment of bills, and cooperation in sustaining efficient water delivery across the region.

The recognition was part of the company’s customer celebration ceremony held under the theme, “Partnership for Progress – Your Support Keeps the Water Flowing.”

Mr Francis Agyei Boateng, the Regional Chief Manager, said the event was not just a formality but a celebration of partnership, trust, and shared progress between Ghana Water Limited and its valued customers.

“This celebration is dedicated to our cherished customers and partners who have walked with us over the years.

Your loyalty, cooperation, and timely payment of bills continue to sustain our operations and help us serve you better each day,” he stated.

He acknowledged that the company’s journey had not been without challenges, citing the damaging effects of illegal mining (galamsey), illegal connections, meter theft, and pipeline destruction by road contractors as some of the major setbacks that disrupt service delivery and raise operational costs.

Despite these challenges, Mr Boateng commended customers for their patience, understanding, and continued partnership, which he said had enabled the company to modernize its systems and improve service delivery to homes, schools, hospitals, and industries.

He highlighted the company’s recent technological innovations, including the introduction of the GWL Customer App, Mobile Money (MoMo) payment options, and the USSD code *1010#, which allows customers to pay bills securely and conveniently.

“These innovations reflect our ongoing commitment to efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction,” he added.

Mr Boateng emphasised that while technology played a crucial role, collaboration between GWL and its customers remained the key to achieving lasting progress.

“Excellence is never achieved in isolation. It is the product of unity and shared responsibility. Your continuous support enables us to deliver on our mandate and extend water services to more communities,” he said.

A total of 62 individuals and institutions were honoured, including 18 major customers, 43 residential customers, and one staff member, each receiving a souvenir and a citation in recognition of their exemplary commitment and partnership.

The Regional Chief Manager expressed the company’s gratitude to all customers and called for stronger collaboration to ensure sustainable water supply for future generations.

“Let us continue to strengthen this partnership for progress, so that together, we can keep the water flowing for generations to come,” he noted.
