Tema, Nov. 20, GNA-The Ghana Armed Forces recruitment applicants who went through the selection process at the Eastern Naval Base in Tema Newtown have praised the process, describing it as successful and peaceful.
Following the chaotic process at the El-Wak stadium during the Greater Accra selection process a week ago, the Eastern Naval Base was named as one of the hosts for the first time following some reforms to avert such occurrences.
Some applicants who successfully went through the process told the media that the exercise was smoother as compared to what went on at El-Wak.

They noted that the exercise was very orderly and fast; in addition, chairs were provided for their comfort, a sharp contrast to previous ones.
According to them, the process was highly impressive, as less time was spent at the base while the recruits went through all the needed processes without any incident.
Mr Wisdom Agbene, a resident of Dome Kwabenya and an applicant, stated that “the organisation didn’t go well at El Wak, but today’s arrangement will really help in the recruitment process. This is my second attempt; I tried in 2021, and that one was chaotic unless you forced yourself in, but today’s was peaceful and successful.
“I thought I would keep long, but I didn’t. I came around 06:00 hours; by 10:00 hours, I was done. When the incident happened, I became afraid and almost gave up, but with the new arrangement, I decided to try it,” a female applicant stated.
Lieutenant Commander Ezekiel Ako Nai, an officer in charge of one of the processes at the Eastern Naval Command, explained that when the applicants arrived at the gate, they physically verify their summary sheet and the message sent to them to report, then they are sent for documentation and body selection, 30 applicants per group.

“We don’t have any congestion; there is also an ambulance here for any incident. We are expecting 600 applicants per day for today, Friday and Saturday.”
He advised applicants who were yet to report for their process to be patient and follow the process, adding that those who receive messages, have their documents intact and were qualified would surely go through the process successfully.
