Ho, Nov. 25, GNA – The Etoi Kodzo and Kagbe families of the Tanyigbe Traditional Area, have written to the Volta Regional Minister and by extension national security on Tanyigbe Fiaga (paramountcy) rotation.
The families also said their adjudicated turn was being due but they noticed an impunity and disregard for the rule of law.
In a letter addressed to Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister signed by Mr Robert Apaka for Etoi Kodzo Family and Mr Emmanuel Agbe for Kagbe Family, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, referred to a 2017 Petition to the Volta Region House of Chiefs (VRHC).
The signatories said House of Chiefs’ judgment of March 21, 2025 on “Tanyigbe Fiaga Rotation, Our Turn Being Due” was given to Mr Gunu.
“We kindly re-assure you of our lineage’s respect for and commitment to the Rule of Law, but for how long shall we, as victors in the VRHC Judgment, wait on and see the blatant disregard?”
The signatories said they were aware that the losers in the case were seeking audience with the Volta Regional Minister “which failed to come on after many rescheduling.”
They alleged that the Minister granted them audience “when they were your Guests under the guise of NORDU AREA Chiefs.”
The signatories said as far as they were concerned, an appeal against statutory judgment does not legally translate into a “stay of judgment” adding that it was the sugar-coated propaganda that was being used against them by their opponents.
They assured the Minister that they had no intention of being obstacles to the good plans for the Region.
“Above being said, we cannot guarantee any further, our endurance or patience since the orchestrated intimidation (Amenudiadia) has stretched us to the highest tolerable limits despite our resolve to avoid any bloodbath.”
