Tumu, (UW/R), June 30, GNA – The Management and Staff of the Tumu College of Education have honoured two distinguished members of staff for their dedicated service to the college.
They were Mr Baloroo Lopawiise, a Social Studies tutor who served the school from 2003 to July 2025, and Dr Enoch Mani, who also served the school from 2010 to December 2025 and taught Liberal Studies (Graphic design).
The two retired tutors were joined by their families and colleagues at a colourful send-off ceremony held at Tumu to recognise their dedicated and meritorious service to the institution.


The event, held under the theme: “Celebrating Service, Friendship and New Beginnings”, brought together the management, staff and guests to celebrate the remarkable contributions of the two retirees to the growth and development of the College.
Professor Peter Awon-Mateo Agbedemnab, the Principal of Tumu College of Education, who chaired the ceremony, described the attendance as a reflection of the respect and admiration the retirees had earned over the years.
He explained that the staff send-off dinner was instituted to honour dedicated employees, strengthen relationships among staff and celebrate important milestones in the lives of the workers.
Prof Agbedemnab praised Mr Lopawiise and Dr Mani for their commitment, professionalism and invaluable contributions to the advancement of the College, noting that their legacy would continue to inspire both the staff and the students.
Mr Abdulai Babia Bukari, the Vice Principal, read citations detailing the exemplary service and achievements of the two retirees.
Mr Lopawiise and Dr Mani received the citations alongside gifts and tokens of appreciation from the college community, cash donations and smocks.


In their remarks, Mr Lopawiise and Dr Mani expressed appreciation to the management, staff and students of the school for the support, friendship and cooperation they received throughout their service at the College.
They encouraged other staff members to remain committed to excellence and continue working towards the growth of the Tumu College of Education.
The ceremony featured a toast in honour of the retirees, musical performances, dancing and social interaction, allowing colleagues to share fond memories and celebrate the lasting impact the two retirees had on the institution.
Some of the participants described the ceremony as a fitting tribute to the two outstanding officers.
