Armed Forces Recruitment ongoing smoothly in Cape Coast

Cape Coast, Nov. 13, GNA – Thousands of hopeful applicants gathered early on Wednesday morning at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to take part in the Ghana Armed Forces’ ongoing recruitment exercise.

The event, which kicked off promptly at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium attracted more than 6000 prospective recruits from the Central Region and beyond, all eager to serve their nation.

Despite the large crowd that thronged the stadium, and the complexity of managing such a high turnout, the exercise proceeded steadily under the watchful eyes of Senior Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces stationed at the venue.

Though the officers declined to speak with the media, Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed smooth exercise.

Some of the applicants arrived at dawn and lined up outside the stadium gates with great anticipation and though the process of entering the stadium proved physically demanding for some of them because of the large numbers, there were no reported incidents.

Instead, minor challenges such as occasional heckling, pushing and shoving among the crowd unsettled the atmosphere briefly, but order was quickly restored within minutes.

An applicant, Kwame Mensah, 22 years old, described the experience as intense yet inspiring.

“It was tough getting inside with so many people, but I am determined to push through. This is a chance to serve my country and build a future,” he said.

Another applicant, Ama Serwaa, 19, expressed mixed feelings about the process, saying “The organisation is good, but with so many applicants, it gets overwhelming. I just hope the challenges do not affect our chances. Still, I am proud to be here.”

The Ghana Armed Forces on Sunday announced the date for documentation and physical selection for qualified candidates in the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise from November 12 to 13, 2025, at designated screening centers nationwide.

The GAF also confirmed that this stage involved all shortlisted applicants who successfully completed the online enlistment application for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The recruitment exercise, which started on October 1, 2025, had its application deadline extended from October 31 to November 7, due to technical issues with the online application portal.

The recruitment is being done across all 16 regional capitals to ensure nationwide accessibility for qualified applicants.

The physical selection phase, also known as attestation, includes final medical examinations and document verification.

Applicants must bring their application summary reports, original educational certificates, and birth certificates.

These documentation and physical selection activities scheduled for November 12–13 are part of the ongoing process to complete the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise.
