Manso-Adubia (Ash), Sept. 22, GNA – Mr Kwadwo Addo, a constituency chairman hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Manso Adubia of the Ashanti Region, has donated 200 bags of cement and two tonnes of iron rods to support the ongoing construction of the party’s constituency office.
The building materials, estimated at GHS 60,000.00, were presented to the constituency as part of Mr Addo’s efforts to support the development of the party’s infrastructure.
Mr Addo was accompanied by some constituency executives and party faithful during the presentation.
Mr Addo told journalists, during the presentation that, the donation formed part of his vision to support the NDC’s efforts to establish an ultra-modern constituency office that would facilitate the party’s day-to-day administrative and organisational activities.
He said a functional and well-equipped constituency office would provide a conducive environment for party executives and members to organise their activities and strengthen the party’s structures at the grassroots.
Mr Addo urged the executives responsible for the construction project to ensure that the donated materials were put to good use and used strictly for their intended purpose.
Touching on his decision to contest the constituency chairmanship election, Mr Addo said his vision was to strengthen the NDC at the grassroots and work towards helping the party win the Manso Adubia parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said he would continue to support the party and work closely with constituency executives, members and supporters to build a stronger and more organised NDC in the constituency.
Mr Addo said the electoral gap between the two major parties had been narrowing and expressed his determination to contribute to further reducing the gap.
He called for unity, commitment and effective grassroots mobilisation among party members, saying, these were important to strengthening the party’s structures and advancing its electoral prospects.
Mr Addo pledged to continue supporting the NDC and contributing to initiatives that would promote the development and organisation of the party in the constituency.
Mr Frank Antwi Agyei, the incumbent NDC constituency chairman, thanked Mr Addo for his contribution towards the ongoing construction of the party’s constituency office.
He said the materials would help advance the project and expressed appreciation to Mr Addo for responding to the needs of the constituency.
Mr Antwi Agyei encouraged other party members, supporters and well-wishers to contribute towards the completion of the office project.
Mr Bernard Ntiamoah, constituency communications officer, also commended Mr Addo for the gesture.
He described the donation as a contribution towards strengthening the party’s structures and urged Mr Addo to continue supporting the NDC.
Mr Ntiamoah said sustained support from party members and individuals committed to the development of the constituency would help improve the party’s organisational activities.
