Berekum, (Bono), Oct. 4, GNA – Nana Asantewaa Krobea, the Nifahemaa (sub-queen) of Akroforo, a farming community in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region has presented some teaching and learning materials to the Akroforo Methodist Basic School in the area.
They include 400 exercise books, quantities of pens and pencils as well as erasers, to be distributed among the school children.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of a short presentation ceremony at Akroforo, Nana Krobea said the gesture was her widow’s mite to facilitate teaching and learning as she marked her birthday.
She urged the school children to obey and respect their teachers, and entreated the teachers to redouble their efforts and help improve the academic performances of the pupils and students.
Nana Krobea noted that quality education remained the surest legacy families could bequeath their children and urged parents to invest much of their resources in the education of their children.


Madam Hamida Seidu Seinu, the Headmistress of the school thanked the donor for the gesture, saying the items would help relieve families and enhance teaching and learning too.
