Keta (VR) Oct. 28, GNA-The Keta Municipal Assembly (MA) has been adjudged 10th in the latest ranking for the first Quarter Performance for 2025 evaluation metrics, among 18 districts in the Volta Region.

This information was displayed on a table showing district rankings in the region with a score of 106 and a percentage of 80.30 per cent for Keta Municipal Assembly with achievement of an “EXCELLENT” overall performance.

Mr Samuel Sedoameda, a citizen of Keta told the Ghana News Agency, in an interview that the expectations of many have been higher considering the position of Keta Assembly on the table in the latest performance table released.

“Being 10th out of 18 districts in the ranking has already sparked discussions on the areas needing improvement for better performance; we are old enough to be number one in the Volta,” he said.

He said the drop to the 10th position on the district performance table from potential first position of last year might be due to various factors like changes in evaluation criteria, performance metrics, or internal challenges within the assembly.

Mr. Sedoameda added that, “if Keta Municipal Assembly was first somewhere last year, and dropped to 10th position in the first quarter of this year, then l think something is wrong somewhere that necessitated the significant change.”

He said the ranking showed that the Assembly was doing pretty well in the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) metrics, and the drop might prompt the Assembly to review their strategies and operations to understand what led to the shift.

Madam Dziedzorm Yaa Xedagbui, said that the public anticipations from Keta Municipal Assembly were higher considering the potentials, competence, dedication, experience and hardwork of the new Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Wisdom Seade, to turn over the fortunes of the Municipality around.

She said many were asking questions about situations that led the Assembly to place 10th position on the district performance table, and urged the authorities to explain into details the areas considered in the ranking to help understand the criteria used for effectiveness in meeting goals and targets.

The residents of Keta believed that the “EXCELLENT” overall performance despite being 10th indicated that the Keta MA was still doing well according to the set standards but hoped that there were more room for improvement to climb higher in the subsequent rankings.

They also assumed that the factors contributing to the drop could include resource allocation, project implementation speeds, or monitoring and evaluation effectiveness and appealed to the Keta Municipal Assembly to work beyond the limit to meet the required standards for the first position.
