My award is based on truthful reportage, integrity and perseverance – Bono/Ahafo Regional Best Journalist

Sunyani, (Bono), Sept. 8, GNA – Mr Biiya Mukusah Ali, the 2024 Bono and Ahafo Regional Best Journalist of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) says truth and perseverance earn him the award. 

Mr Ali, the Bono Regional Correspondent of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) was adjudged the overall best journalist during the 2024 Journalists awards organised by the Bono and Ahafo Regional chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) held at Abesim, near Sunyani. 
 
He took three awards in the categories of newspaper, political and agroecology, receiving two laptop computers, certificates and plaques. 

Mr Ali indicated that: “Receiving the overall best journalist for the region reminds me of how to choose journalism as a life career and I am always committed to achieve my career goals”. 

The award ceremony was on the theme “The role of the media as a tool for peacebuilding and development in the Bono and Ahafo Regions”. 

Mr Ali expressed gratitude to the GCGL and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for giving him the opportunity to build on his career path. 
 
Miss Jasmine Akwaboah, a reporter of Moonlight FM, a Sunyani-based radio station was also adjudged the 2024 Bono and Ahafo Regional Best Female Journalist and received a tablet, certificate and plaque. 
 
Earlier in a welcoming address, Mrs Regina Benneh Siaw, the Bono and Ahafo Chairperson of GJA expressed appreciation to all the sponsors for their support and congratulated the award winners for their excellent work. 
 
Seven other deserving journalists also received awards in the categories feature, news anchor, education, telecommunications, health and crime and for their prize each of them received a plaque, certificate and tablet.
