Accra, Sept. 22, GNA – The Jerry John Rawlings Foundation has eulogied the late Dr. Mohammed Ben Abdallah for his transformative impact on the country’s education.
A statement signed and issued by Kobina Andoh Amoakwa, the Executive Secretary, Office of the former President J.J. Rawlings, said Dr. Abdallah, left an indelible mark on Ghana’s educational landscape.
“We remember Dr. Abdallah for his tireless efforts in shaping Ghana’s educational system in the late 1980s, particularly his instrumental role in introducing the Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School concept, and the implementation of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE),” the statement said.
“His commitment to educational reform has had a lasting impact on the lives of countless Ghanaians.”
Beyond his achievements in education, Dr. Abdallah was revered for his humility, honesty, and dedication to public service, the Foundation said, adding that his integrity and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and the Ghanaian people.
“The J.J. Rawlings Foundation pays tribute to Dr. Abdallah’s legacy, which continues to inspire future generations. May his memory be a blessing to us all,” it prayed.
It also asked for God’s comfort for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Dr. Abdallah, an academic, writer, playwright, a statesman died on September 18, 2025.
