Dozens of people in Gaza reported killed in Israeli attacks

Tel Aviv, Sept 18, (dpa/GNA) – Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip again claimed dozens more lives on Wednesday, according to Palestinian media, as Israel pursues its offensive in Gaza City.

The WAFA news agency reported that at least 45 people had been killed since the morning, including 32 in Gaza City. The victims are reported to include a pregnant woman.

The Israeli army said it had attacked more than 150 targets in Gaza City over the past two days, including “terrorists” and “military structures.”

Israel has been conducting a major ground offensive in the city since Monday night.

The information provided by the Israeli military and the WAFA news agency could not be independently verified.

An independent commission of inquiry of the UN Human Rights Council said on Tuesday, that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Four of the five genocidal acts listed in the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, have been carried out since October 7, 2023, the three-member commission determined.

Israel denies the accusations of genocide, instead accusing Islamist group Hamas of genocide, when it carried out the October 7 terrorist attacks.
