Amantin SHS appeals for infrastructure development

By Eric Yaw Boakye

Amantin (Bono East), Sept. 17, GNA – Mr. Godfrey Djie, Headmaster of the Amantin Senior High School (SHS) in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality of the Bono East Region, has appealed to government and stakeholders to support the physical infrastructure development of the school.

He said the school lacked a dining hall, administration block, assembly hall, and science laboratory, stressing that inadequate classrooms and furniture had limited student admissions.

Speaking at the school’s 30th anniversary celebration on the theme “Quality Education and Discipline: Tools for Self-Empowerment and National Development”, Mr. Djie further highlighted the need for spacious dormitories, beds, a standard library, kitchen, and vehicles to replace the old school bus and pickup, which he described as virtually grounded.

He added that perennial water shortages, inadequate staff bungalows, and toilet facilities continued to pose challenges. He said the school intended to construct a two-storey classroom block and appealed to the general public to complement government’s efforts in addressing the pressing needs.

The Headmaster expressed gratitude to God, staff, parents, and stakeholders for their support towards the growth of the institution over the past three decades.

Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi, Bono East Regional Minister, pledged to forward the concerns to the appropriate authorities for redress.
