Kwaman (C/R), Sept. 23, GNA – Mr. Ebenezer Bimpong, Presiding Member (PM) of the Agona West Municipal Assembly, has donated 4,500 assorted books to seven basic schools in Agona Kwaman to promote quality education in the area.
The beneficiary schools include Methodist Basic, Roman Catholic Basic, Presbyterian Basic, Meridian Basic Academy, Nyamekye Memorial Montessori, Ebenezer International School, and Ghartey International School.
The donation, which benefited about 1,500 pupils and students, was aimed at easing the financial burden on parents while enhancing teaching and learning.
Mr. Bimpong, who is also the Assemblyman for the Agona Kwaman Electoral Area, said education remained the foundation for personal and societal development. He was accompanied by Nana Opaaku Yeboah VI, Chief of Agona Kwaman, who underscored the importance of investing in children’s education.
“We believe that access to quality education is a fundamental right of every child,” Mr. Bimpong stated.


Nana Ano Akyamfo I, Gyantuahene of Kwaman, assured that the central government and the Agona West Assembly remained committed to supporting schools to enhance teaching and learning.
A pupil, speaking on behalf of colleagues, expressed excitement at the gesture and pledged that the books would be put to good use to improve academic performance.
Teachers and heads of the beneficiary schools also expressed appreciation, noting that the donation would help improve learning outcomes. They commended the PM for his patriotism and prioritization of education in the community.
