Ho (V/R), Aug. 21, GNA – The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has met with school feeding caterers from 11 districts of the region during an orientation programme held at the Ho Municipal Assembly Hall.

The session, held on Wednesday, August 20, brought together caterers from North Tongu, Adaklu, South Dayi, North Dayi, Hohoe, Kpando, Akatsi North, Afadzato South, Ho West, Ho Municipal, and Agotime Ziope.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Gunu reminded the caterers that their work directly impacted the health and academic performance of pupils, while also reflecting the government’s commitment to social interventions.

He urged them to serve meals with fairness, dedication, and quality, stressing that the wellbeing of schoolchildren was central to the success of the School Feeding Programme.

The Minister assured the caterers of the government’s continued support to strengthen and improve the programme.

As part of his gesture, he made a cash donation to the group, encouraging them to remain committed despite challenges.

Madam Fafa Agbai, the Volta Regional School Feeding Coordinator, speaking on behalf of the caterers, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s personal engagement.

She explained that the orientation was designed to build the capacity of caterers to deliver more nutritious and balanced meals to schoolchildren.

She, however, highlighted challenges such as occasional delays in supplies, which affect service delivery, but expressed hope that with the Minister’s assurance, the programme would see improvements.
