Tema Regional Police engage, kill three robbers in shoot-out

Kpone, July 21, GNA – Three suspected armed robbers were, on Monday, July 21, 2025, gunned down by the Tema Regional Police Command after engaging police in a gun battle at Kpone. 

The suspects were among about 10 armed men who attacked a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area. 

A statement signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA). indicated that the Tema Regional Police Command responded to a distress call regarding armed men numbering about 10 breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area. 

It said the police patrol team that responded to the call confronted the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire. 

“Three of the suspects were shot in the process and have been pronounced dead.” 

The Command noted that the remaining suspects, some of whom were believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, fled the scene. 

It added that exhibits recovered from them included a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a double-barreled locally manufactured pistol with two rounds of ammunition, and 11 live BB ammunition. 

“The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation, and autopsy while investigations are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.” 

The Tema Regional Police Command commended officers of the Kpone District Command for the timely response.
