Ghana Cycling Federation launches sixth edition of PruRide competition

Accra, July 1, GNA – The Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), in collaboration with Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, has launched the sixth edition of the PruRide championship with a commitment to building a healthier Ghana and a more sustainable future.

This year’s event is on the theme “Ride not just for fitness, but for the future; let’s pedal with purpose, lead with vision, and inspire change.”

Speaking at the launch, Madam Jane Dornukuor Mingle, CEO of Prudential Life Insurance, said the event would promote lifestyles that enhance well-being and protection of the planet.

Madam Dornukuor said PruRide was one of those bold steps to encourage low-emission transport, active living and community connection.

She said cycling improves cardiovascular health, reduces stress, boosts mental health, and fosters a sense of community.

Madam Dornukuor encouraged stakeholders, corporate bodies, communities, families, and individuals to embrace cycling as a regular part of life.

Mr Mohammed Shabban, the Secretary General of the GCF, thanked the company for its partnership since 2014.

He also commended Mr Richard Akpokavie, the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President for attending the launch and was hopeful that this year’s edition would be a success.
