Accra, July 8, GNA – The North African sporting giant, Egypt, dominated the second edition of the 2025 Airbadminton championship held at the Laboma Beach in Accra, Ghana.
Egypt won six medals in the championship, including four golds, one silver, and one bronze.
Egypt won gold in the team relay event, followed by Nigeria in second and Mauritius in third.
Mauritius won gold in men’s doubles, Egypt silver, and Benin bronze.
Egypt won gold while host nation Ghana won silver, and Nigeria took bronze, in the mixed doubles event.
In the men’s triples event, Mauritius won gold, followed by Benin with silver and Egypt with bronze.
In the women’s triples event, Egypt won gold, followed by Nigeria with silver and Ghana winning the bronze medal.
Mr Evans Yeboah, President of the Ghana Badminton Association, expressed his profound gratitude to the participating countries on behalf of the association.
He said, “The championship was amazing with all the things that the association has done to make the tournament a successful event.
“He thanked the players, coaches, Local Organising Committee members, sponsors for the support.”
