Wenchi, (Bono), June 13, GNA – The Wenchi Traditional Council in the Bono Region has announced the demise of the late Nana Atoa Seramangyedua III, the Paramount Queen Mother of Wenchi Traditional Area.
According to the Council, the queen-mother died Friday June 13, 2025, after a short illness.
She was 95 years old. Addressing a news conference at Wenchi, Nana Owusu Ameyaw Ababio, the Abakomahene (sub-chief) of the traditional council said the late queen-mother was enstooled on January 7, 1977, and reigned 48 years.
She was known in private life as Abena Nsia Boatemaa and she was the sixth child of her late parents.
Nana Ababio, also the Abusuapanin (family head) of the Ahenfie Yefiri Royal Family ordered everybody in the traditional area to wear black or red attire, saying the date for the late queen mother’s one week observance would be communicated soon.
