Apowa (W/R), June 18, GNA – The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region has attributed the recent power outages in parts of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis to some technical challenges and a faulty underground cable.
According to Mr Awal Boye, Western Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the ECG, the technical issue was localized at the Ketan Substation, affecting areas such as Ketan Estate, House of Chiefs, Link Road, and surrounding communities.
He said an underground cable fault at Apowa had also resulted in power outages in Apowa, Mpohor, and surrounding areas.
The ECG has, therefore, apologised to customers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused, and assured them that engineers were working assiduously to restore power as soon as possible.
“We regret the occurrence and appeal to our valued customers to bear with us as we work to resolve the issue,” Mr Boye said.
He urged the customers to remain patient and cooperative as they strived to restore power to the affected areas.
