Sekondi (W/R), June 11, GNA – Mr Frederick Faustinaus Faidoo, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has toured some Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) centres within the Metropolis to encourage the candidates to give off their best in the examination.

He was accompanied by officials from the Metro Education Directorate, and some staff from Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA).

The MCE reminded the students that the examination was for them to give accounts of all that they had learnt throughout their basic education levels and asked them to answer the questions with confidence.

He said: “We are here to give you moral support and motivate you to write your exams and perform excellently to make us proud.

“Go with open mindedness, and do not be afraid and by the grace of God, you shall come out with flying colours.”

Mr Faidoo advised them to abide by the rules and regulations governing the examination, while adhering to written and oral instructions to avoid getting their papers cancelled.

Mr Edmund Aggrey-Forson, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Director of Education, also encouraged the candidates not to indulge themselves in any examination malpractices.

He asked them to be focused and write the exams successfully to put Sekondi-Takoradi among the best performing districts.

A total of 5,568 students made up of 2,795 males and 2,773 females across 138 schools are sitting for this year’s BECE at 18 centres within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
