Kadjebi (O/R), June 18, GNA-Nurses and Midwives at the Kadjebi Health Centre have resumed duties following the suspension of recent strike action embarked upon by members of Ghana Registered Nurses’ and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA).

A visit by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to the Kadjebi Health Centre on June 17, saw the place active with lots of health care activities ongoing.

Mr. Joseph Yekple, Kadjebi District Chairman of the GRNMA, in a phone interview with the GNA, said their members have been working since Friday, June 13.

Asked whether the government had responded to their demands, he said, “I am yet to get details from the national hierarchy.”

A patient named Rejoice Agbo, speaking to the GNA at the outpatient Department (OPD), commended the health professionals for resuming their duties.

Members of GRNMA embarked on a strike on June 2 alleging government’s lack of commitment to implementing the 2024 Collective Agreement for Ghanaian nurses and midwives.

However, they suspended their strike following a successful meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health.

The Association, in a statement signed by its President, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, urged members to resume normal shift duties from Saturday, June 14, 2025, assuring them of its consistent efforts to ensure the full implementation of their Collective Agreement.
