Abura Dunkwa, (C/R), June 10, GNA- Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Abura-Asebu- Kwamankese (AAK) District, has donated 3,000 pieces of maths sets to students writing this years’ Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in AAK.
He said the donation formed part of his dedication and commitment to support the students to write the examination with ease.
The MP observed that he had taken some of the burden off the shoulders of parents and guardians and urged the students to walk into the examination room with confidence.
Mr Ofosu admonished them to learn and write the exams without fear, assured them that prizes and scholarships awaits those who would do well.
He donated GH¢10,000.00 for the upkeep of invigilators and supervisors for the conduct of the examination.
Mrs Juliette Dufie Otami, Central Regional Director of Education, who received the items was grateful for the donation and promised to ensure the swift distribution of the maths sets to the candidates to aid them during the examination.
She said the one maths set; one candidate initiative would go a long way to equip students and prevent borrowing of such tools which resulted in noise making during examination.
In addition, she said the cash donation would be used to feed the invigilators and supervisors to ensure examination malpractices was curtailed.
Mr Thomas Mensah Wardy, District Chief Executive of AAK advised the candidates to approach the examination with confidence and avoid examination malpractices.
In all a total of 2,847 candidates are expected to write the BECE in the AAK district on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 09:00 hours.
