Avoeme West Assembly Member inspires BECE candidates to work beyond limits

Avoeme (VR), Jun 12, GNA-Madam Faustina Elikplim Korwu, the Assembly Member of Avoeme Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, has taken a bold step to support and inspire Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in her area during the first day of the 2025 examination.   

As part of the inspiration and support, Madam Korwu also donated mathematical sets to 216 students from three schools which include Avoeme Basic School, New Kingdom Preparatory and Luminous High Academy.  

Madam Korwu told Ghana New Agency in an interview that the move was also to motivate and encourage candidate to work beyond their limit and come out with flying colours.   

“This is the crucial time we need to support and inspire our young future leaders, encouraging them to work harder to become better future leaders,” she said.  

She further said that the donation was aimed at supporting students who were from low-income families or deprived and may struggle to afford basic examination materials which could have negative impact on their performance and there must be the need use little resources to make a difference.  

Madam Korwu took the opportunity and advised the candidates about importance of discipline, hard work and encouraged them to stay away from examination malpractices and focus on understanding and answering the questions to the best of their knowledge for better outcome and results.  

“Many of us have ever experience such situation, some parents are still in financial difficulties, indicating the challenges some students face in accessing basic educational materials.”  

She urged the students to remain confident, avoid panic, and take the exams seriously while wishing them success in their exams and prayed for God’s blessings and guidance upon them.
