Kadjebi (O/R), May 21, GNA – World Vision Ghana, Kadjebi Area Programme (AP), will commemorate the 2025 World Menstrual Hygiene Day with the launch of “Community Pad Bank” at Yadzo, a farming community in the Kadjebi District.
The launching of the Community Pad Bank, which is an innovative initiative, would be on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The initiative is designed to support vulnerable girls in the community with access to sanitary pads and promote safe and dignified menstrual practices.
Mr. Eric Opoku-Agyarko, Agortime Cluster Manager, World Vision Ghana, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Kadjebi, in the Oti Region.
He told GNA that this year’s celebration is being held under the theme: “Together for a Period- Friendly World” and aims to raise awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene management, particularly among adolescent girls.
Mr. Opoku-Agyarko stated that there will also be the commissioning of a newly constructed solar-powered mechanised water system, a major step towards improving access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for the Yadzo community.
World Menstrual Hygiene Day is celebrated annually on May 28.
The day aims to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene and to promote the importance of good menstrual hygiene management for all individuals.
