Tourism Minister Engages Creative Sector Stakeholders on Strategic Growth Plans

Accra, May 15, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, has engaged stakeholders to address key concerns and propose strategic initiatives for the sector’s growth.

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss funding and infrastructure challenges, offering the Minister firsthand insights into the sector’s needs, priorities, and expectations.

In her welcome address, Madam Gomashie reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a global cultural hub and building a thriving tourism and creative arts industry.

She stressed the need for collaboration among agencies, emphasising that strong partnerships were vital to advancing the sector.

Speaking on the government’s flagship programme, the Black Star Experience, Madam Gomashie described it as more than an event, noting that it was lifestyle initiative designed to showcase Ghana’s cultural heritage, generate revenue, and create employment opportunities in the sector.

She assured stakeholders of her commitment to ensuring the ministry operates effectively, addressing industry challenges and promoting unity and innovation as key drivers of transformation.

Stakeholders present included representatives from the Ghana Tourism Federation, Ghana National Association of Garment Makers, Ghana Hotels Association, Ghana Association of Writers, Film Crew Association, National Theatre, and Heritage Food and Drinks Association, among other relevant agencies.
