Sege, May 13, GNA – Mr Daniel Keshi Bessey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sege, has called on assembly members in the Ada West District to endorse the District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee appointed by President John Dramani Mahama.
He made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), emphasising that endorsing the nominee would fast-track development in the district, urging members not to allow political differences or misinformation to derail progress.
“I’m pleading with all assembly members to make the president proud by endorsing the nominee,” he stated.
According to him, some assembly members reached out to him regarding a purported list of preferred persons supposedly published by the caucus of Members of Parliament belonging to the National Democratic Congress in the Greater Accra region.
Mr Bessey denied having any influence over the appointment of the nominee, describing such claims as mere speculations.
He reminded the assembly members that leadership was about timing and fairness, encouraging them to treat others the way they would want to be treated in similar circumstances.
“Today is someone’s time; tomorrow might be yours. Let’s be guided by respect and unity,” he added.
The Sege MP also appealed for calm and peaceful proceedings before, during and after the confirmation, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
“I urge all assembly members to ensure peace and decorum during the DCE confirmation exercise,” he said.
