Accra, May 25, GNA-The National Paralympic Committee (NPC)-Ghana in consultation with its partners have appointed thirty-eight Sports Journalists as media administrative officers for the promotion and development of paralympic sports.
The appointment also serves as preparation for the first Open Para-Sports Classification Festival 2025.
A national campaign designed to reposition para-sports as a tool for inclusion, empowerment and sporting excellence.
The para federations associated with the selected journalists include Para-athletics Association, Benaiah Elorm Dafeamekpor, Para Powerlifting Association-Bill Eshun, Ghana Wheel tennis- Gabriel Ofei, Para Swimming Association-Micheal Obeng and Haruna Mubarak, Para Archery-Eugene Anane and Victoria Adwoa Kwofie, Shooting Para Sports Association-Mutala Yakubu, Blind Sports Federation-Jones Adzi and David Kofi Tei and Amputee Football-Theophilus-Sampah.
The rest were, Para Table Tennis-Darius Osei and Lawrence Degraft Baidoo, Cerebral Palsy Sports Association-Emmanuel Opoku and Josiah Okoe Quaye, Wheelchair Softball-Egyir Papa Kwamiena and Emmanuel Enin, Para Badminton-Rihana Adam Akologo and Achore Richard, Para Judo-Jeffery Amoah and Bright Yeboah,Boccia Sports-Ebenezer Mawuena Amuzu and Muhammed Malik.
At the NPC media level, the media officers are, Sammy Heywood Okine, Victor Kwawu, Abednego Cole Mensah, Owusu Amoabeng, Joyce Amankwah, Richmond K. Entsie, Michael Tuffour, Albert Essel, Abdul Latif Moro, Prince Donu-Leiku, Joel Acheampong, Michael Kofi Oduro, Jones Asante Mfodwo, Isaac Tetteh and Saddick Adams Head of Communications.
Mr. Saddick Adam who presented the award on behalf of President Sampson Deen said the appointment would help make para sports visible in the country.
