New Horizon Special School set to hold annual fun games on May 23

Accra, May 21, GNA – The New Horizon Special School (NHSS) is set to organize its annual Fun Day Games on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the school premises in Cantonment, Accra.  

 In a release issued to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, the School said the event, which is opened to the public, was aimed at showcasing to the public the skills, talents, and sportsmanship of the special needs population in Ghana.  

“We advocate for fitness and sports for everyone. All competitors are recognized as winners, and everyone receives a winner’s medal.”  

Some games outlined for the students included filling of bottles, three-legged race, 50 metre race, sack race, lime and spoon, walking, wheelchair race sail race, relay race, football, picking of balls, musical chairs, and tug of peace, among others.  

The NHSS is a private school for people with  intellectual disabilities and autism that provides special education for children aged 5 to 18, and vocational training employment for students over 18.  

It is legally registered as a voluntary, non-profit-making and charitable institution with the Ministry of Education that strives to develop each student’s potential to the full so that they could lead a productive and satisfying life.
