Nkwanta (O/R), May 9, GNA – Mr Joseph Kwame Antwi Awal, the Municipal Chief Executive of Nkwanta South, has called for effective collaboration with the health directorate to tackle health delivery issues.
The MCE emphasised the crucial role of health services in enhancing the overall well-being of people during a courtesy call from the health directorate.
The meeting aimed at addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the area and ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to all residents.
Mr Antwi urged stakeholders to work together to tackle the challenges facing the healthcare system in the Municipality.
The MCE also emphasised that effective collaboration is essential for identifying gaps in service delivery and implementing strategies that can lead to improved health outcomes.
He urged the directorate to collaborate with the Assembly to identify key areas for improvement, especially in resource allocation and service delivery.
Dr Evans Ativor, the Municipal Health Director, in his address, welcomed the MCE into his office but raised several pressing issues affecting health delivery in the area, including electricity supply to some CHPS compounds in the municipality especially Alokpatsa CHPS zone, Dae Korpe and others health facilities.
He lamented that absence of electricity in the aforementioned communities has discouraged nurses from being posted to those areas, significantly hindering the provision of health services to the residents.
Mr Ativor also emphasised that a consistent power supply is essential for the operation of medical equipment and the preservation of medicines, which directly impacts patient care.
He appealed to the MCE for the necessary infrastructure improvements to ensure that healthcare facilities are adequately powered, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery.
The directorate assured the MCE their commitment to effective collaboration to ensure that the people of Nkwanta South receive quality healthcare services they deserve.
