Police nab suspect for stealing EPA’s Land Cruiser in Tarkwa

Tarkwa (W/R), April 25, GNA – The Western Central Regional Police Command has nabbed one person for stealing a Toyota Land Cruiser (PC) vehicle belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Tarkwa.  

Salifu Gariba, the suspect, was arrested by officers of the Northern Regional Police Command on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at Kukobia, along the Tamale-Bolgatanga Highway.  

Addressing a media conference in Tarkwa, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Desmond Boampong, the Western Central Regional Police Commander, said the vehicle with registration number GS 1845-23, was retrieved from the suspect.  

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen in the early hours of Tuesday April 15, 2025, from the residence of an employee of the EPA at Budo City, a suburb of Tarkwa.  

The suspect has since been remanded into police custody for further investigation, DCOP Boampong explained.
