Chevening Alumna Ghana inaugurates Executive Committee for 2025/26 term

Accra, March 18, GNA – The Chevening Alumni Ghana on Monday inaugurated a new Executive Committee for the 2025/2026 term in Accra with Mr. Eugene E. Tornyeavah as President.

The members are Ms Nadia Teresa Abugah, Vice President, Mr Prosper Dzitse, General Secretary, Ms Sabina Morgan, Assistant Secretary, Ms Roissa Darko, Organizing Secretary, Ms Mary Wetani Agoriwo, Treasurer, and Mr Kinglove Adu-Mensah Junior, Public Relations Officer.

A press release by the Chevening Alumni Ghana, copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the inauguration of the new executive marked a significant milestone in the association’s commitment to fostering leadership, collaboration, and national development.

“The newly elected executives, comprising distinguished Chevening alumni, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles,” it said.

“They are poised to drive impactful initiatives that align with the Chevening ethos of building a global network of future leaders.”

The release said the President, Mr Tornyeavah, reaffirmed the committee’s dedication to advancing the goals of the Chevening community in Ghana.

“We are honoured to take on this responsibility and are committed to strengthening the bonds within our network, empowering our members, and contributing to national development through innovative projects and partnerships,” he said.

Mr Hooman Nouruzi, Head of the Political and Governance Team at the

British High Commission, commended the Chevening Alumni Ghana for its continued efforts in

promoting excellence and leadership.

The Chairperson of the event, Mr Kwasi Okoh, emphasised the importance of unity and collective action in driving national development.

“As you assume your new roles, I charge you to build upon the foundations laid, to innovate, and to propel our society to even greater heights,” he was quoted as saying.

The release said the Chevening Alumni Ghana remained a vibrant community of change-makers, united by their shared experience as beneficiaries of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.

It said the association had, over the years, spearheaded numerous initiatives in education, entrepreneurship, and social development, leaving an indelible mark on Ghana’s progress.

“As the new Executive Committee takes office; the association looks forward to a year of impactful projects, strengthened collaborations, and continued growth,” it said.

Chevening is the United Kingdom Government’s international awards programme aimed at developing global

Leaders, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

The programme offers fully funded scholarships to outstanding individuals with leadership potential to study in the United Kingdom.
