Accra, March 3, GNA – Dr Akosua Abdallah, Head Ghana Chapter of International Theatre Institute (ITI), has denied being part of a petition challenging the appointment of Kafui Danku and James Gardiner to the National Film Authority (NFA).
This comes after alleged circulation of a petition to President Mahama for appointing Kafui Danku and James Gardiner to the NFA.
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Dr Abdallah said she had no concern or interest in the appointment of Danku and James Gardiner by President John Dramani Mahama.
“I wish to categorically state that I have no knowledge of this petition and was neither consulted nor involved in its initiation, drafting, or circulation”, the statement said.
It said Dr Abdallah remained neutral and professional stance on matters of governance and appointments within state institutions.
“At this stage of my career, I am not engaged in public or civil service, and any association of my name with this petition is entirely unwarranted. The inclusion of my name was done without my consent and does not reflect my views”, she said.
Dr Abdallah stated: “As a cultural and theatre expert, and in my capacity as Head of the Ghana Chapter of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), my focus remains on fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and artistic excellence within the creative sector”.
