Accra Metropolitan University appoints Prof Lilian-Rita Akudolu as new Vice President

Accra, March 07, GNA – The Accra Metropolitan University (Accra MET), formerly Laweh University College, has appointed Professor Lilian-Rita Akudolu as its new Vice President (Pro-Vice Chancellor).  

Accra MET in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency said with a distinguished career in higher education, leadership, and academic development, Prof Akudolu was bringing a wealth of expertise that aligns with the university’s commitment to excellence and innovation. 

In her new role, Prof Akudolu will collaborate closely with the President and the Board of Directors to advance Accra MET’s strategic vision.  

She will also focus on fostering academic excellence, enhancing student success, and supporting faculty development, while elevating the university’s reputation both nationally and internationally. 

Prof Goski Alabi, President of Accra MET, warmly welcomed Prof Akudolu, emphasizing the institution’s dedication to collaboration and forward-thinking leadership.  

“We are thrilled to have Prof Akudolu join our leadership team. Her extensive experience and visionary approach will be invaluable in driving academic growth and institutional progress,” she said. 

Prof Alabi also highlighted Accra MET’s dynamic and collegial work culture, which thrived on teamwork and shared academic goals.
