Accra, Feb 03, GNA – Professor Goski Alabi, President, Laweh Open University, has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as a key member of the high-level National Education Forum Committee.
The appointment reaffirms Prof Alabi’s expertise and leadership in academia, governance, and policy development.
Prof Alabi, a distinguished academic and renowned educationist, brings a wealth of experience to the committee, which is expected to play a crucial role in shaping national policies.
Her appointment underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging the expertise of accomplished professionals in driving national development.
With an extensive background in higher education, leadership, and public policy, Prof Alabi is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to the committee’s work.
Her inclusion on the committee is widely seen as a strategic move to enhance policy formulation and implementation, ensuring informed decision-making for the country’s progress.
Profile of Professor Goski Alabi
Professor Goski Alabi is an accomplished academic, practitioner and entrepreneur with experience in academia, consultancy, and regulations.
She is a Professor of Quality Management and Leadership and holds a BSc in Chemistry and a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, an Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Food Science from the University of Ghana, Legon, a Doctor of Business Administration from
the Swiss Management Centre, and a PhD in Business Administration from Central University of Nicaragua.
Prof Alabi is the Dean of the Centre for International Education and Collaboration at the University for Professional Studies, Accra and served as the Founding Dean of the School of Graduate Studies.
As the Founding Dean she increased the school from zero to 1000 students in six short years.
She is a Quality Management professional of the highest order.
She is a Chartered Quality Professional (CQP) from the Chartered Quality Institute, UK. She has consulted widely, and has published over 70 scholarly journal articles, book conferences and technical papers. Prof Alabi proposed and facilitated the establishment of the Otumfuo Centre for Traditional Leadership and the Drolor Centre for Strategic Leadership, two leadership centres of excellence in Ghana.
Prof Alabi is passionate about open supported teaching and learning and is the co-founder of Laweh Open University College.
