Techiman, (Bono East) Jan. 11, GNA – Some Heads of Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Bono East Region have assured parents and guardians of adequate feeding in the schools.

They said there was no cause of alarm, urging parents to remain calm as their children returned to school.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to some of the SHSs in the Techiman Metropolis, the heads confirmed they had in store some food items to feed the students.

The assurance came in the wake of perceived shortage of food items in some SHSs in the Metropolis.

Mr Mose Kofi Adu, the Headmaster for Techiman Senior High School, described the alleged shortage of food items as false and unfounded, and allayed the fears of the parents and guardians, saying “we have in stock the required food items to feed the students in the term”.

He said many of the students had reported and academic work had begun, urging parents and guardians not to entertain any fear, adding the school would be able to provide meals for all the 3,650 students.

The situation was not different at the Ameyaw Akumfi, Mount Carmel Girls, and the Yeboah Asuamah SHSs in the Metropolis the GNA noticed that many of the students had reported, with academic work progressing.

Mr Kuffour Kalid Abdullah, the Headmaster of the Yeboah Asuamah SHS and the Reverend Sister Christiana Chika Ifeabunike, the Headmistress of the Mount Carmel Girls SHS all assured of adequate food items to feed the students.
