Kpone, May 09, GNA – Assembly members of the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA) have officially confirmed Mr. Samuel Tetteh Kwashie Morton as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
Mr. Morton, who President John Dramani Mahama nominated, received overwhelming endorsement from the assembly members, polling 26 yes votes representing 96.29 per cent of the total 27 votes cast.
In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the president for the nomination and to the assembly members for their confidence in him and pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to promote inclusive development.
He outlined his priorities, including improving water challenges, a poor road network, and deficits in the health sector, among other things, to make the municipality attractive for the constituents.
“Our water issue is very necessary; we need it as yesterday, and what it means is that right from now, work has started, and we need to meet all the needed agencies to make sure our people get water in not less than a year,” Mr. Morton stated.
He indicated that construction works on the Kpone roads commenced immediately. President John Mahama assumed office and assured the public that the project was a top priority for the administration and would be executed with urgency and diligence to improve transportation infrastructure and enhance economic activities in the area.
