Nyankumasi Ahenkro (C/R), Jan. 24, GNA – The Very Rev Father Stephen Amoah Gyasi, a philanthropist and cleric, in collaboration with the Rotary Club in Canada and the United States of America has empowered 31 single mothers in apprenticeship with brand new sewing machines.

He said the initiative would provide the women with sustainable means of livelihood, enabling them to support themselves and their children.
Rev. Gyasi urged the women to be focused in completing their apprenticeship program and not to engage in social vices.
He cautioned the women to take good care of the machines and support others as well.

Madam Akua Oppong, beneficiary in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, was grateful to Rev. Gyasi and the Rotary Club for their kind gesture, saying the gesture was very commendable because she would be self-reliant after her trade.

Ms Felicia Aidoo, said she would halt the borrowing of sewing machine to complete her apprentice programme.
She therefore pledged to handle the sewing machine with the needed care it deserved.
