Ho (V/R), Jan. 24, GNA – Mr Agbesi Dzramado, an aspiring District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Tongu in the Volta Region, has pledged to work to ensure that all victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage receive compensation if appointed as the DCE.

He emphasised that providing compensation aligns with the President’s vision, as outlined in the 2024 manifesto of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking after his vetting on the third day of the ongoing MMDCEs vetting in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, Mr Dzramado assured that he would actively engage with the President and the Sector Minister to secure the promised relief for affected residents.

“The President has promised to compensate all flood victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage. If I get the nod, I will work closely with the President and the Sector Minister to ensure the people of Central Tongu receive what is due them,” he told GNA.

He also shared plans to expand the Mafi-Kumasi Market to create a vibrant hub for local farm produce. According to him, a well-structured market would boost revenue generation, enabling the district to undertake more developmental projects.

“Revamping the Mafi-Kumasi Market is a major priority for me. With a well-established market, the district can generate significant revenue to fund various development initiatives,” he explained.

In the agriculture sector, Mr Dzramado noted that the NDC’s 2024 manifesto includes a focus on farmer service centers. He pledged to collaborate with the government to bring modern farming equipment to the district, enhancing agricultural productivity.

Currently working in the private sector, Mr Dzramado highlighted his experience engaging with private entities, which he believed positions him well to attract investments and development opportunities for the district.

Mr Dzramado is one of 26 aspirants vying for the DCE position in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.
