Koforidua, Jan. 24, GNA – The Eastern Regional command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has climaxed the 2024 annual West African Security Services Association (WASSA) celebration with various departments and sister security agencies in Koforidua.
The occasion was simultaneously held with a send-off ceremony for three superior officers who were transferred to occupy higher positions.
In his address, Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Timothy Osafo-Affum explained that WASSA was a socialization activity marked every year to release officers from strenuous schedules and to take stock of the previous year’s activities and plan for the way forward.
He said though regional officers did their best in the discharge of their duties, greater efforts were needed for a satisfactory performance in 2025.
“To enhance productivity, let us eschew a relaxed attitude towards work and encourage dedication to duty,” he stressed.
He urged officers from the Fire stations under the Regional Command to contact the office for solutions to problems to improve proficiency.
Regarding the outgoing officers, the Regional Command presented to them citations of appreciation and prizes.
The officers are Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Jennifer Naa Yarley Quaye, former Eastern Regional Commander, Ghana National Fire Service.
She is currently the Director in Charge of Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) at the National Headquarters.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFOII) Isaac Kofi Obosu is now the Upper West Regional Commander of the GNFS, and ACFOII Peter Tetteh, is the Ashanti Regional Commander of the GNFS.
